Suspect in West Ocean City Robbery Arrested

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md.– The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office says a man wanted for robbing the Cholula Authentic Mexican Store in West Ocean City has been taken into custody in Baltimore.

Kenneth Mearle Larkin, 33, of Ocean City, is charged with robbery and second-degree assault.

Police said that on July 3, Larkin entered the store and asked the cashier about mobile phones before going to the back to get a glass Pepsi bottle from the cooler. Investigators said that when he returned, he started to pay for his drink before he went behind the counter, where the cashier blocked him. However, police said he pushed the cashier to the floor and took a bank bag from the register before fleeing the scene.

The employee suffered minor injuries and was able to positively identify the suspect through previous transactions, according to police. Larkin has entered the store numerous times to cash checks.

Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Larkin in Baltimore on Monday, authorities said. He is being held without bond.
