Three Arrested on Drug Charges After O.C. Pursuit

OCEAN CITY, Md.- Ocean City police say that after a short chase through downtown last week, officers arrested three people on various drug possession and distribution charges.

Police said that at around 11:45 p.m. July 2, a plainclothes officer identified a possible noise violation coming from a car in the Inlet parking lot. Uniformed officers then attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of Baltimore Avenue and 1st Street. Police said he vehicle fled north on Baltimore Avenue, leading officers on a chase before turning back and stopping in a parking lot near South 1st Street and Baltimore Avenue.

The driver, identified as Marcos Ortlip, 21, of Millsboro, Del., jumped out of the car and was quickly arrested, while the three passengers in the vehicle were detained, according to police.

Police said that during an investigation, officers found that Ortlip and two of the passengers were in possession of controlled dangerous substances, at which point Brandon Garrison, 31, of Dagsboro, Del., and Christina Boone, 23, of Millsboro, were also arrested. The third passenger was released at the scene.

Officers said they found 18 bags of heroin in the vehicle, in addition to marijuana, crack cocaine, and more than $650 in cash, which was seized.

The three suspects have all been charged with multiple drug possession and distribution charges, according to authorities, who said Ortlip also faces multiple traffic violations. Ortlip and Garrison are being held on $25,000 and $40,000 bond ,respectively.  Boone was released on her own recognizance.
