Georgetown Man Arrested for Heroin Possession

GEORGETOWN, Del.- Georgetown police say a man is facing heroin charges following an incident that occurred Wednesday in the parking lot of Dunbarton Oaks apartment complex.

Police were called at around 4 p.m. to the apartments to investigate suspicious activities. Upon arrival they came in contact with Nathan Stevens, 47, sitting in a vehicle. Investigators said a warrant check was performed, and it was discovered that Stevens had several capiases out of local courts.

While checking the vehicle, police said they located a coin purse under Stevens’ seat. Inside were found two small bags of heroin and a straw used to ingest heroin, according to investigators.

Stevens was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $1,000 secured bond with a future court date.
