Salisbury Man Sentenced to 33 Years for Sex Abuse

SALISBURY, Md.- Prosecutors say a Salisbury man will have to spend 33 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.

A Wicomico County Circuit Court judge on Thursday gave Annera Georges, 47, a 70-year sentence, suspend all but 33 in the Division of Corrections. Georges was convicted, after a two day jury trial on May 7, of sexual abuse of a minor, second-degree rape, two counts of third-degree sexual offense and other related sex charges. Sentencing had been deferred for a mental health evaluation and presentence investigation.

Upon release from prison, Georges will be registered and supervised for the remainder of his life as a high-risk sexual offender.
