CRISFIELD, Md. (WBOC/AP)- The 38th Annual J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake is scheduled for Crisfield.

The all-you-can-eat seafood festival is set for Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Somers Cove Marina.

The event is known for having a strong political flavor. It is also an election year in Maryland, and that tends to draw even more people who are running for office.

This year is a little bit different, though. Usually, the feast falls before Maryland's primary. This year, the primary was moved from September to June, so those races already have been settled.

Democratic Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, who is running for governor, is scheduled to attend. His opponent, Republican Larry Hogan, is also planning to make the trip.

The event is named in honor of Crisfield native J. Millard Tawes, Maryland's governor from 1959 to 1967.
