Talbot County DUI Crackdown Leads to Three Arrests

Updated:
EASTON, Md.– Two motorists were arrested for DUI and a third was charged with possession of illicit drugs following a weekend crackdown on drunk driving in Talbot County.

Maryland State Police said troopers, along with deputies with the Talbot County Sheriff's Office, conducted the checkpoint at Route 33 and Station Road between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday. A saturation patrol followed from 11 p.m. through 2 a.m. Saturday. According to police, 148 vehicles were checked during the operation called "Checkpoint Strikeforce."

Police said that during the checkpoint, no motorists had to be pulled to the side for additional sobriety testing.

All arrests stemmed from traffic stops by roving patrol units on Route 33 in the area of the checkpoint, police said.
