GEORGETOWN, Del. – Georgetown police say they arrested two men for shoplifting Thursday after finding both suspects in a car with some of the stolen items and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested Tykwan James, 34, of Houston, Del., and Benjamin Hickman, 25, of Dover, Del., and charged both men with shoplifting, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said officers responded to Redner’s Warehouse Market for the shoplifting incident and received a registration number and vehicle description from employees.

An hour later, police found the suspects in the vehicle, which was parked in the County Seat Apartments parking lot in Georgetown, investigators said.

Police said they confronted the suspects, located a few of the stolen items in the car and found three needles with the men.

James admitted to selling stolen items to buy heroin, which he said they both injected before authorities arrived on the scene, according to police.

Officials say they placed James and Hickman in the Sussex Correctional Institute on $2,500 bond.
