Man Falsely Reports Shooting, Police Say He Shot Himself

BIVALVE, Md. – A 23-year-old man called police to report he had been shot, but police later determined the man shot himself, according to the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation.

It happened Monday at 1:40 p.m. in the 21000 Block of Nanticoke Rd.

Investigators said Cory Long reported to police that he had been shot in the right side of his chest by someone leaving his home. Investigators responded to the scene and determined Long shot himself, and falsely reported the shooting.

There have been no charges yet.
