GEORGETOWN, Del.- Georgetown police say a traffic stop has led to the arrest of a man on felony DUI and related charges.

Police said that on Tuesday night they received a call about a possible drunk driver in a blue Dodge truck near the Georgetown Wal-Mart on US 113. Police arrived and said they followed the car as it crossed the white fog line several times. Officers said they then turned on their lights and sirens, but the driver did not pull over. Officers chased the vehicle onto Governor Stockley Road, where the driver pulled into a driveway.

Officers then approached 50-year-old Roy D. McBroom, of Georgetown, whom they said was under the influence of alcohol. A preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol content to be .168 percent, police said. After checking McBroom’s driving record it was revealed this would be his fourth offense for DUI, according to police.

McBroom was charged with felony DUI, disregarding an officer’s signal, and failing to remain in a single lane. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of a $4,600 bond with a future court date.
