ROSEMONT, Ill. – Officials have placed a Maryland wide receiver on the 2014 Big Ten Players to Watch list Monday, according to the conference.
A media panel placed Stefon Diggs, of Gaithersburg, Md., on the preseason list, which includes five athletes from each the east and west division, officials say.
Diggs, who placed second in team receptions and receiving yards in 2013, had 34 receptions for 587 yards and three touchdowns, according to the conference.
The player averaged 83.9 receiving yards and 156 career all-purpose yards per game, missing the final five games from a leg injury, officials say.
Officials have also nominated Diggs for the Biletnikoff Award, Walter Camp Award, Paul Hornung Award and Maxwell Award, according to the conference.
