WALDORF, Md. – Four Salisbury University softball players and one alumna will play against the United States of America Softball Women’s National Team Tuesday night.
Junior Rachel Johnson, sophomores Katie Sebbane, Paige Knussman and Kim Dorsey, and alumna Lacey Lister will play Team USA at 7 p.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium to help them prepare for the International Softball Federation Women’s World Championships, officials say.
All five players are first-team All-Capital Athletic Conference members, according to officials. Lister, Knussman, Dorsey and Johnson are also All-Americans.
The four current players led the team to the NCAA Division III Championship this year, losing to Tufts University, while Lister led the Washington College team to a 26-13-1 record as head coach, officials say.
Lister, Salisbury University’s all-time pitching leader with 1,096 strikeouts and 108 victories, according to officials, is coaching her sixth season.
