RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The prosecution's star witness in the corruption trial of former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife says Maureen McDonnell was an enthusiastic supporter of the dietary supplement he was trying to sell.

Businessman Jonnie Williams said Maureen McDonnell told a group of investors at a meeting in Florida in 2011 that she wanted a state trooper to drive her and Williams to see every doctor in Virginia and tell them about the benefits of his company's signature product, Anatabloc.

Williams said Maureen McDonnell's endorsement of his product was valuable because "the credibility of Virginia came with that."

Prosecutors say Williams gave the McDonnells more than $165,000 in secret gifts, cash and loans in exchange for promoting his products. Thursday is the second day of Williams' testimony.
