Speedway to Host 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive

Posted:

DOVER, Del. - Dover International Speedway will host its ninth annual 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive on September 11.

The event will take place in the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All donors will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the NASCAR Nationwide Series race, scheduled for September 27 at the Speedway.

“The 9/11 Blood Drive is a tradition we’ve established that our team is very proud of,” said Denis McGlynn, president and CEO of Dover Motorsports, Inc. “We’re honored to be able to pay tribute to the many who lost their lives on that fateful day in 2001, while also contributing to a cause that helps so many today.”

2006 marked the first year Monster Mile, Dover Downs Hotel and Casino and the Blood Bank of America collaborated on this event.

The 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive is open to the public. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-888-8-BLOOD or visiting www.DelmarvaBlood.org. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-in donors are welcome.
