REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Delaware State Police arrested two suspects involved in a purse snatching incident in Rehoboth Beach after police received an anonymous tip.

Troopers say a 16-year-old Lewes boy and a 17-year-old Milton boy were arrested Sunday afternoon after information was developed when an anonymous tipster provided one of the teenagers name through the Delaware State Police Crime Tip Application. Police say a second anonymous tip was received by Master Corporal Gaglione via voicemail which provided the second suspect's information.

Police say the two teenagers were arrested at their homes and taken to Troop 7 where they were formally charged with theft under $1,500 and conspiracy third degree. Police say the 16-year-old teen was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found to be in possession of the substance while being taken into custody.

Troopers say the purse snatching incident occurred at about 11:19 a.m. Friday when they say the two teens stopped in front of the "Kids Cottage" child care center on Wolfe Neck Road and removed a woman's purse from her vehicle.

Police say the victim was a 34-year-old woman from Lewes.

Police say the 16-year-old suspect is being held at William Marion Stevenson House Detention Center in Milford on $2,000 secured bond, while the 17-year-old suspect was released to the custody of his parents pending a hearing in Family Court.
