Dover Police, Target to Host Annual National Night Out

The Dover Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event Tuesday at the Target parking lot in Dover, Del. The Dover Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event Tuesday at the Target parking lot in Dover, Del.

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department and Target will host its annual National Night Out event Tuesday in an effort to promote community relationships with local officials, according to authorities.

The event, which takes place in the Target parking lot Aug. 5 from 6-8 p.m., will have a dunk tank, rock climbing wall, K9 demonstrations, food and more, officials said.

Emergency responders will have equipment out for visitors to see and allow children to try on the gear, according to the Dover Police Department. Kids will also be able to sit on a police motorcycle and put out a fire with the help of the Dover Fire Department.

During the event, teams of three will compete in a rock wall relay race for the Mayor’s Cup in the brand new Dover Police vs. Dover Fire Night Out Challenge, officials say. The event will begin at 7 p.m.

The Dover Police Department also holds in annual Heroes and Helpers program at Christmas in its effort to reach the community.
