DOVER, Del.– Dover police have arrested a woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend during an argument that occurred over the weekend.

Carla Heath, 48, of Dover, is charged with second-degree assault, two counts of theft under $1,500 where the victim was 62 years of age or older, offensive touching, malicious interference with emergency communication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers said they were called to a home on the unit block of North Governors Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday and found the victim bleeding from his hand. Police said the victim told officers that Heath hit his face, stabbed his hand and stole his cellphone to stop him from calling police.

Emergency responders took the victim to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was treated for his injury and released.

Officers arrested Heath and found a glass crack pipe in her possession, according to police. Following her arrest on the aforementioned charges, she was ordered held in the Delores B. Baylor Correctional Center on $22,000 bond.
