MD Officials Hold Call on Response to Children Seeking Refuge from Central American Violence

BALTIMOREOn Tuesday, Secretary Ted Dallas from Maryland’s Department of Human Resources and AnneSheridan, Director for the Governor’s Office for Children, will hold ateleconference call to discuss steps the O’Malley-Brown Administration istaking in supporting the federal government’s efforts to help children seekingrefuge from violence in Central America.

By bringingthe community together, leveraging public-private partnerships and working withthe federal government, Maryland can ensure that these children are treatedwith compassion, are kept safe and are afforded due process through federallegal proceedings.
