GEORGETOWN, Del.– Georgetown police arrested a man Monday for driving under the influence after he failed to stop at an intersection, according to authorities.

Police said they arrested Julio Gomez, 39, of Georgetown, and charged him with DUI, failing to stop at a stop sign, driving without insurance and driving while suspended.

Gomez, driving a silver Ford Explorer, was driving east on West North Street before driving through an intersection, according to police. After authorities stopped Gomez and performed a sobriety test, they found he had a blood alcohol content of .226.

Police said they gave Gomez traffic citations and released him to a family member.
