SALISBURY, Md.– Salisbury City Councilwoman Terry E. Cohen has announced she will step down Friday after serving the city for seven years.

Cohen, who represents District 2, will attend her last council meeting Tuesday. She attributed her resignation to a “major life change” that will take her attention away from her responsibilities as councilwoman.

In a press release, Cohen added that she recently suffered a tragic loss and tried to remain in service until the end of her term, but would not feel satisfied with her work.

Cohen began her first term in 2007 and was reelected in 2011. Cohen, who also served a stint as council president, lists fiscal responsibility and crime reduction to her success.
