Dover Church to Hold Annual Backpack Blessing Service

Christ Episcopal Church will host its annual "Blessing of the Backpacks" service Aug. 17 in Dover, Del. Christ Episcopal Church will host its annual "Blessing of the Backpacks" service Aug. 17 in Dover, Del.

DOVER, Del.– Christ Episcopal Church will hold its “Blessing of the Backpacks” service Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. in downtown Dover, according to Lay Ministry Associate Jon Rania.

Children can bring their backpacks to be blessed for the upcoming school year, Rania says. The church will serve refreshments during a social hour after the service in the parish hall next to the church.

Christ Church will also be collecting school supplies for community shelters and agencies, according to the church.
