NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Incoming Washington College freshman soccer playerMichael Holowesko (Nassau, Bahamas/Asheville School [N.C.]) joined a number of Major League Soccer and NCAA Division I players in suiting up for the Bahamas first team in a friendly against the United States Under-23 National Team last night at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau. The U.S. side scored a 5-1 victory.

Holowesko, a six-foot five-inch defender, wore number 15 for the game, the same number he wore while playing high school soccer at Asheville School in North Carolina. Holowesko also played lacrosse at Asheville School, where he was coached by Lecky Haller, a former All-American lacrosse player at Washington College who went on to become a World Champion and Olympic canoer.

In addition to playing the friendly, both teams participated in a Special Olympics clinic hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Nassau.
