Harrington Police Arrest Man for Threatening Family

Posted:
HARRINGTON, Del. - A Harrington man is charged with one count of terroristic threatening and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, police say.

Police arrested Steven R. Huey, 34, of the 100 block of Dorman St., after officers responded to a possible drug overdose Wednesday. While on patrol, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of West Liberty St. for a report of a possible subject unresponsive from a drug overdose. When officers arrived they contacted the reporting person and found Huey, not unresponsive but under the influence of drugs.

Police say Huey and the reporting person told them Huey had left the residence to purchase heroin and returned under the influence. Police also determined Huey was involved in an altercation with the reporting person and threatened to run his car into the reporting person's house. After finding drug paraphernalia in Huey's car, police took him into custody.

Police say they called an ambulance to evaluate Huey, but he denied all medical treatment.

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $2,000 secured bail.
