Posted: Updated:

HARRINGTON, Del. - Police said they arrested a Harrington man after they found drugs and a lot of cash inside the car he was driving during a traffic stop.

It happened Thursday on Brasher Lane in the area of Corn Crib Road.

Harrington police said officers stopped Benne Singletary, 32, for a traffic violation. While obtaining his vehicle information, police said Singletary opened the glove box and officers saw a large amount of money sitting in plain view.

Officers said then discovered Singletary had a suspended driver's license. Police said after Singletary gave officers permission to search his vehicle, they found six clear plastic bags of heroin and $3,300.

The total weight of the heroin was .012 grams, according to investigators.

Singletary was charged with drug-related offenses and released on $2,000 unsecured bond.
