UPDATED: Police Search for Offender Who Failed to Return to Dover Corrections Center

Posted:
DOVER, Del. - An offender at the Delaware Department of Correction failed to return from an authorized pass Thursday, officers say.

Kirk Bartholomew of Smyrna, Del., left the premises with permission from the Morris Community Corrections Center, a level four facility where offenders are permitted to leave the facility to go to work, seek jobs or attend approved treatment sessions.

Bartholomew left the building at 5:20 p.m. and was expected to return by 7:45, according to Christopher Klein of the Department of Correction. At this time, Bartholomew's location is still unknown.

Correction officers say Bartholomew's original charge was forgery in the second degree.

He is described as a white male, five-foot-five inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo on each forearm.

Anyone with information on this offender is asked to call (800) 542-9524 or a local police department.
