Victim in July Stabbing in Dover Dies

DOVER, Del.- The victim in a late July stabbing incident in Dover has died from his injuries. 

Dover police said 20-year-old Rashaad Lewis was declared dead just after 5 p.m. Monday. Lewis had been admitted at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital since the incident. 

Police said the suspects in the case, 18-year-old Kinon Teat, of Felton, and 19-year-old Shaquille Bolden, of Dover, will now face first-degree murder charges in addition to the charges already filed against them. Both men are being held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $1 million cash bond.

Police said the incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. July 23 when officers responded to the unit block of South New Street for a large fight involving approximately 20 people. Officers said when they arrived on the scene, they found Lewis with numerous knife wounds to his chest.

Lewis was rushed to Bayhealth for surgery where he was listed in critical but stable condition prior to his death.
