CAPE CHARLES, Va. (AP/WBOC) - Authorities have recovered the body of an 8-year-old boy from New Jersey who went missing in the Chesapeake Bay off Cape Charles Beach.

According to WBOC affiliate WTKR in Norfolk, the victim is Uvian Horton.

The Virginia Marine Resources Commission says the boy's body was found Tuesday on the south end of the beach, near where he went missing.

The boy from Trenton was last seen swimming at the beach Sunday. The boy's grandmother has said his family was visiting relatives in Chesapeake.

Authorities used side-scan sonar, boats and an airplane as part of the recovery effort.
