Search to Resume for Missing Newport News Swimmer

Posted:
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - The search for a Newport News man who disappeared while swimming in Deep Creek will resume Wednesday.

Crews recovered the body of a second swimmer on Tuesday near the Menchville Marina.

Newport News police spokesman Lou Thurston tells media outlets that the two 20-year-old men were fishing on Tuesday when they decided to go swimming.

Thurston says the current pulled the men under the water. Witnesses didn't see them resurface.

Neither man's name has been released.
