DOVER, Del.- Authorities say a Dover woman has been charged with robbery and resisting arrest after she stole clothes, assaulted a store employee, and struggled with police.

It happened Thursday at 9:35 p.m. at Target.

Dover Police said Sonia Scott, 36, hid many clothing items in her purse and tried to leave the store without buying them.

Police said an employee confronted her and Scott shoved the employee multiple times, causing minor injuries. Scott then took off, according to investigators.

Police said officers found Scott in the area of Capital Green. According to investigators, Scott struggled with the officers and was eventually taken into custody.

Officers said during a search of Scott they found a claw hammer.

Scott was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and is currently held on $6,500 secured bail at Baylor Women's Correctional Facility.
