Body Recovered off Coast of Bethany Beach

BETHANY BEACH, Del.- The Coast Guard says it located a body near the area where a tanker crewman went overboard 20 miles off the coast of Bethany Beach.

According to a Coast Guard spokesperson, the body was recovered in the Atlantic Ocean Friday evening.  The Coast Guard cannot officially confirm it is the missing crewman.  The body will be sent to a coroner for identification.

The Coast Guard says a man reportedly jumped off the Genco Challenger, a cargo ship based in Hong Kong, following a fatal stabbing on the vessel Thursday night.  They say two people were air lifted to a nearby hospital; one was pronounced dead, another is listed in stable condition.

The Coast Guard says it is working with the State Department and U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the investigation.
