Seaford Bank Robbery Suspect in Custody

Posted: Updated:
SEAFORD, Del. (WBOC)- A Georgetown man wanted in connection to a robbery at the Citizens Bank in Seaford is being held in Maryland.

According to Seaford police, the suspect entered the bank on Sussex Highway at around 2 p.m. Friday and handed the teller a note demanding money. Police said he received an undisclosed amount of money and ran from the bank into the Lowes parking lot where he then got into a white Dodge Stratus and drove southbound on Herring Run Road.

At approximately 7 p.m. Friday, Laurel police saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop on Route 13. Police said the Dodge fled southbound and was later stopped on Line Road in Maryland, where the suspect was arrested.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Didio, 40, of Georgetown. Authorities said that upon further investigation, Seaford police detectives and Delaware State Police ere able to connect Didio to the Seaford robbery, along with another bank robbery that occurred in the Lewes area.

Didio is currently being held in Maryland on fugitive warrants pending extradition back to Delaware where he will be formally charged.
