LINCOLN, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another in connection with a weekend shooting in Lincoln that left a 21-year-old man injured.

Troopers said it happened at around 12:20 p.m. Saturday as cousins, Joshua Daniels, 18, and Timothy Daniels, 22, both of Lincoln, arrived in a Ford Taurus at the parking lot of the King's Market located at 20639 Fleatown Road in Lincoln. Police said that as both men got out of the car, a fight occurred between Joshua Daniels and the 21-year-old victim. Troopers said the fight was broken up and Joshua Daniels and Timothy Daniels fled the area in the car.

Police said that after fleeing the scene, Joshua Daniels drove to a relative's house and retrieved a semiautomatic handgun. The duo returned to the market with Joshua Daniels behind the wheel of the Ford and Timothy Daniels in the passenger seat, according to investigators. They said that as he approached the market, Joshua Daniels slowed the vehicle and stopped, firing six rounds from within the vehicle, out of the open front passenger window, in the direction of the 21-year-old victim, a 19-year-old man, and a 57-year-old man who were standing in the parking lot of the store.

Police said the 21-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his lower leg and released. The 19-year-old and 57-year-old were not injured as a result of the gunfire, according to police. They said the pair then fled the area in the car after the shooting.

Police said that after further investigation and receiving public tips and leads, Troop 4 detectives were able to identify and connect Joshua Daniels and Timothy Daniels to the shooting.

Approximately an hour and a half after the shooting, troopers were able to locate Timothy Daniels riding a bicycle on Cubbage Pond Road. Police said he attempted to run from troopers but was subsequently captured by a Delaware State Police K-9. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for multiple K-9 bites and released to the custody of troopers.

Timothy Daniels was charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited after conviction of a felony, three counts of first-degree reckless endangering and first-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $125,000 cash bond.

Troopers continue to actively search for Joshua Daniels who is wanted on attempted first-degree murder and related charges. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous as the weapon has not been recovered. The Ford Taurus has been recovered. Anyone who spots Joshua Daniels is asked to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with additional information about this incident is ask to contact the DSP Criminal Investigative Unit at Troop 4 at (302) 856-5850.
