CHESWOLD, Del. - With the help of surveillance cameras and the release of the photo by news outlets, the Cheswold Police Department made an arrest in a theft that happened last week from the Shore Shop in Cheswold, Delaware.

Police say on August 10 just before 10:00 p.m., 33-year-old Ian H. Nadel, of Smyrna, went into the Shore Shop on Main Street and stole a container of scratch off lottery tickets. Police say Nadel first lingered around the store for about ten minutes speaking on his cell phone near the front counter in the area of the tickets, then removed the container and left. The lottery tickets were valued at approximately $314, according to police.

Police say they received a tip on August 17 that the suspect was Ian Nadel. After further investigation, police say they were able to positively identify the suspect through surveillance photos, his cell phone and the tattoo located on his leg, confirming the man in the photos was Nadel.

Police say Nadel was charged with theft under $1000 and was processed and arraigned at the Cheswold Police Department before being released on $500 unsecured bail, pending a hearing.
