First State SPCA to Hold Spay/Neuter Clinic for Cats

Posted:
CAMDEN, Del.- The First State Animal Center and SPCA is bringing back its "Fixin' to Save Lives" spay/neuter program for cats only on Monday, August 25, 2014. The public is encouraged to call (302) 943-6032 and make an appointment for their unfixed cats. The cost to spay a cat is $75, and the cost to neuter a cat is $55. This also includes a rabies vaccine.

Appointments will be taken for procedures between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The mission of the First State Animal Center and SPCA is twofold: they protect animals from people, by prevention of cruelty and suffering, rescue of the trapped or injured, emergency medical treatment, temporary housing for homeless animals and the reduction of homeless pet overpopulation through targeted spay/neuter and education programs; and they protect people from animals through their commitment in placing only stable, safe and well-adjusted animals into homes where they will thrive while simultaneously educating the public about responsible pet guardianship.

Information about the First State Animal Center and SPCA, a non-profit, charitable organization, can be found at www.fsac-spca.org .

Proposed Roundabout for Wicomico County Intersection

There is a intersection in Salisbury off Route 50 that has several roads leading into it and 12 traffic lights regulating it.

Mount Hermon Road, Long Avenue, Truitt Street, East Williams Street, and Main Street all intersect at one central location.

People in the community have mixed feelings about the intersection. Some say it should be left alone because it regulates traffic just fine while others say it is a nuisance.
