DOVER, Del.- This fall, the Sampler Consortium and the Sampler Archive Project will host two Delaware Sampler Identification Days, including one at the Biggs Museum in Dover on September 21, 2014 and one at the Historic Odessa Foundation in Odessa on November 22, 2014.

The public is invited to bring their samplers and other schoolgirl embroideries to be photographed and documented for the Sampler Archive Project; a national online database of schoolgirl needlework. If you have more than two objects to be documented, please make an appointment by contacting Ryan Grover at (302) 674-2111 ext. 108 or rgrover@biggsmuseum.org.

Both Sampler ID Days are sponsored by the Sampler Consortium and the Sampler Archive Project.

Available for purchase at both events will be a newly published exhibition catalog on historic genealogical samplers from Delaware entitled Wrought with Careful Hand: Ties of Kinship on Delaware Samplers. The catalog can also be purchased in the Biggs Museum gift shop, online at www.BiggsMuseum.org, or by calling (302) 674-2111.
