SMYRNA, Del. – Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a string of thefts and burglaries from motor vehicles.

Officers from the Smyrna Police Department used the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) to match prints from one of the cars to those of Tyler Caputo of Salerno Drive in Smyrna.

Police responded to multiple complaints of thefts from motor vehicles in the Sunnyside Village and Worthington developments that occurred overnight Saturday.

Police charged Caputo Tuesday with seven counts of 3rd degree burglary, seven counts of theft under $1500 and one count of criminal mischief.
