Car Crash Causes Road Closure in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury police officers say an early Thursday morning car crash caused part of Route 13 to be closed.

Police say around 5 a.m., a car crashed into a utility police in the area of Rt. 13 and Naylor Street and went off the side of the road. At one point, police say power lines were down across the road.

An official with the Salisbury Fire Department says only one car was involved in the accident and the driver, a woman, was not injured.

Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for some time.

Crews continue to clean up the debris as the power company works to put in a new utility pole. Delmarva Power reports a small power outage in that area.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
