Thieves Steal 7 Diamond Rings from Rehoboth Beach Jeweler

Posted:
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Authorities say three people stole a tray of seven diamond rings from a Rehoboth Beach jewelry store.

The theft occurred at around 3:50 p.m. Saturday at Dynasty Jewelry store at 42 Rehoboth Ave. Rehoboth Beach Police Chief Keith Banks said two men and a woman walked in and blocked the view of a clerk on the other side of the store.

Police said the suspects lifted the top glass on a display case and took the diamond rings valued at between $20,000 and $40,000.

The clerk tried to stop the suspects, but they escaped and fled the scene.

The man who was in possession of the jewelry was described as between 30-35 years of age, about 6-foot-tall, with short hair. He was wearing a dark purple polo shirt and dark-colored dress pants.

The other man was described as about the same height, with short hair, and was dressed in a blue polo shirt with horizontal stripes and dark dress pants.

The woman was described as 5-foot6, and was wearing a tapered collar-length wig, brown shirt and slacks.

The suspects did not display any weapons, and made no threats, Banks said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Rehoboth Beach Police Department at (302) 227-2577 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
