GEORGETOWN, Del.- After a successful start last year, the Georgetown Art Crawl will be returning for round two.

This year's crawl will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Georgetown along with the 5th Annual Farmer & Foodie Festival.

The rain or shine art & foodie event will feature artists, artisans, farmers and foodies from throughout the Sussex County region.

Organizers say Georgetown's inaugural Art Crawl was a great success last year, with hundreds of people visiting downtown Georgetown and The Circle to see the artists' exhibits. Dozens of artists and artisans will display their fine art, pottery, woodworking, mixed medium sculptures, jewelry creations and more in the same downtown area this year.

Like last year, the Historic Georgetown Art Crawl will be held in conjunction with the Annual Farmer & Foodie Festival, which aims to celebrate local farmers.

Attendance at the Farmer & Foodie fest has grown over its four years. According to Lynn Lester, owner of the Brick Hotel and creator of the event, an estimated one thousand people enjoyed the event last year.

The festival features cooking demos, beer tastings from 16 Mile Brewery, carriage and tractor rides, live entertainment, pumpkin decorating for the kids and backyard barbeque contests.

The local chamber of commerce will also be involved with the events this year, according to Executive Director Karen Duffield. “The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be playing a more active role in these exciting community events this year,” she said. “We are so pleased to help facilitate a program that will bring the arts to Georgetown.”

All proceeds from the art crawl will benefit local arts programming and arts education. For more information, please contact the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce at 302-856-1544 or visit
