Baltimore Area Bloods Gang Member Sentenced to Prison

Updated:
BALTIMORE– Federal prosecutors say a South Side Brims Bloods gang member was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison Wednesday.

Theodore Clifton Matthews, 32, of Baltimore was sentenced to 210 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.  Matthews was convicted for conspiring to participate in a racketeering enterprise as a part of the SSB Bloods gang.

Thirty-six other members and associates pleaded guilty to roles in the conspiracy, including the founder and leader of the SSB Bloods, Andre Ricardo Roach, 35, of Prince Georges County.  Roach was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

SSB, a subset of the Bloods Gang, has operated in Maryland since at least 2005. Prosecutors said the subset is located primarily in Maryland but has ties to other members in California, New York City, New Jersey, Virginia and South Carolina.
