OCEAN CITY, Md.- Maryland State Police have arrested three suspects they say were responsible for robbing and assaulting a woman on her way home from work in Ocean City on Wednesday.

Kaleah N. McMillam, 24, Latasha Renee Tucker, 25, and John Garcia Scott, 26, all of Washington, D.C., are each charged with strong arm robbery, theft over $1,000, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Troopers from the MSP Berlin barrack responded to a report of an assault in the area of Mattress Warehouse at around 1:30 a.m.

Police said the victim told responding troopers a silver vehicle had pulled up next to her and two females got out, assaulted her and stole her purse, which she said contained a large amount of money. The suspects then fled the scene, the alleged victim told troopers.

Berlin police later discovered the stolen items on the shoulder of Route 50. Troopers located the suspects in their vehicle in Wicomico County, along with four children in the backseat. Upon searching the vehicle, troopers said they also discovered a large amount of money.

The three suspects were taken before the commissioner and held on bond. Social Services placed the four children into protective custody.

New Waterfront Hotel Breaks Ground in O.C., Part 2

The location of a new waterfront hotel that recently broke ground in Ocean City is raising some eyebrows with neighbors in the downtown area.

The Cambria Hotel is being built in the vacant lot that sits just north of the Route 50 drawbridge, meaning it will be one of the first things drivers see headed into town.

Brian Plimack, who lives just behind the development, said the hotel is too much of a drastic change to the town's skyline.
