Man Injured in Dover Shooting


DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police detectives are investigating a Tuesday evening shooting that left a 24-year-old man injured in Dover.

Troopers said the incident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. after troopers responded to a report of shots fired in to the area of South Governors Boulevard and State Circle in the Capital Park development of Dover. Police said when they arrived on the scene, troopers were unable to locate any evidence of a shooting or a victim.

A short time later, the investigating troopers were informed that a man had responded to a local hospital and was suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his legs. The victim, a 24-year-old Dover man, informed troopers that he had been in the area of South Governors Boulevard and State Circle when he heard the sound of several gunshots being fired. The victim said that he ran from the area and soon realized that he had been shot. He was then transported by private vehicle to the hospital where he was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was unable to provide troopers with a suspect description.
