DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Felton woman accused of snatching an elderly woman's purse in the parking lot of a Dover shopping center.

Troopers said the incident occurred at around 11 a.m. Monday as an 84-year-old Camden woman was walking through the parking lot of the Rodney Village Shopping Center located on the 1600 block of South Governor's Avenue in Dover. Police said the victim was approached by a female suspect who asked her for directions and then grabbed her purse from her shoulder. Troopers said the victim attempted to retain her purse by struggling with the suspect, however, the suspect was able to obtain the purse before fleeing in a beige Nissan Altima. The victim was reportedly not injured.

On Tuesday, Dover Safe Streets officers stopped a vehicle matching the description of the Nissan Altima on River Road in Dover. The operator of the car, Angela Tribbitt, 24, of Felton, was taken into custody. Evidence linking Tribbitt to the strong-arm robbery was located inside of the vehicle, police said.

Tribbitt was charged with second-degree robbery, unlawful use of a payment card and two counts of attempted unlawful use of a payment card. She was arraigned and committed to the Baylor Women's Correctional Center for lack of $7,000 cash bail and $2,000 secured bail.
