Fire Rekindles at Home in Worcester County

OCEAN PINES, Md.- A second fire breaks out at a home that went up in flames Friday evening.

Fire officials with the Ocean Pines Fire Department tell WBOC that both fires happened just hours apart. The first fire happened just after 7 p.m. Friday. The second blaze happened over the home's garage at 3:33 this morning.

Fire officials have not identified a cause for both fires. However, the homeowner told WBOC the first fire was caused by grease. The unidentified woman said her four children and two pets made it out safely.

Fire officials said a fire police officer is being treated for minor injuries.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Multiple fire companies responded to the fire that is being investigated by the Fire Marshal's Office in Worcester County.
