BERLIN, Md. – Maryland State Police arrested a Salisbury man for driving under the influence after they say he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a roadside ditch.

Troopers responded to the area of Libertytown Road west of Narrow Branch road for a reported vehicle in a ditch at 10:17 Saturday night. Troopers determined the driver, Ernest William Moore, Jr., 63, of Salisbury, had lost control of a 2005 GMC Yukon. They said it then left the roadway and crashed into the ditch.

Troopers suspected Moore was under the influence of alcohol. He submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. Moore refused an evidentiary breath test.

The GMC Yukon was towed from the scene.
