ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A Wicomico County resident has been named "Employee of the Quarter" for leadership with the Maryland Department of Agriculture.

The MDA says Dawn Bradley was presented a plaque of appreciation during a department-wide staff meeting on Monday.

Bradley, who has nearly 15 years of experience with the state, is the cover crop program administrator within the Office of Resource Conservation, according to the MDA.  The department said she has been instrumental in providing leadership and support in the development and implementation of a new innovative data management system for the Maryland Cover Crop Program.

"Dawn's input and management of the technical aspects of the cover crop program have directly contributed to the success of the program," said Deputy Secretary Mary Ellen Setting. "Her cheerful attitude projects to colleagues and the agricultural community and she can mediate conflicts with remarkable patience and admirable tact. I am pleased to recognize her leadership today"

The MDA also named Sally Terry of Anne Arundel County as "Employee of the Quarter" for customer service with the department. Setting said Terry was also presented with a plaque at the meeting on Monday. Terry is currently an executive associate to the deputy secretary.

"MDA could not meet its mission to serve agriculture and the citizens of Maryland without its talented and dedicated employees," said Deputy Secretary Setting. "Sally has been a tireless and devoted employee of MDA for many years, and I am very pleased to recognize her many contributions today."

Setting said Terry has worked for the State of Maryland for 41 years and was recognized for her positive "can do" attitude, organizational skills, strong work ethic and problem-solving skills, especially while learning new job responsibilities while assuming the duties of another position in the office due to a vacancy.
