Weekly Shoplifting Report in Dover

Posted:

DOVER, Del. – As a continuing effort to cut down on shoplifting in the Dover area, police say they responded to 16 shoplifting complaints this week.

The Dover Police Department recently started an initiative in which it gives a weekly shoplifting report.

From 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11 to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, police said they arrested nine adults and one juvenile, out of the 16 shoplifting complaints. Police said they had a total of 10 arrests in nine cases.

Police said this week saw an increase of two complaints compared to last week.

Police said one case was unfounded and six are still under investigation without identified suspects.

Authorities note that for the third straight week, Kenneth Luke has made the shoplifter notifications. This week police said he was stealing Nexium pills from the Dover ACME, just as he was at CVS in a prior arrest.
