Del. Police Seek Suspect in Theft of Credit Cards

Posted: Updated:

MARYDEL, Del.– Delaware State Police are asking the public's help in identifying a man accused of making unauthorized charges to credit cards stolen from a Marydel rest home.

Troopers say sometime between Aug. 13 and Aug. 15, someone removed four debit cards from a safe located inside Hidden Acres Rest Home on Mowely Lane.

On the evening of Aug. 15, a director at the home received an alert from VISA stating there was suspicious activity on one of the cards that belonged to a resident, police said. That's when the director discovered the four missing cards, all belonging to residents of the home. Troopers later determined a white male suspect had fraudulently used two of the cards at various stores throughout Kent County with charges totaling more than $400.

The suspect depicted in the surveillance images is described as a white male between the ages of 30 and 35, standing approximately 5-foot-9 to 6-foot-tall, wearing black pants, a black shirt and a white and red baseball hat.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Trooper T. Ford at (302) 697-4454, ext. 639.
