OCEAN PINES, Md. – Worcester County Public Work's Water and Wastewater Division has released dates for its semi-annual program of flushing waterlines in select areas of the county.

Ocean Pines, Pennington Commons, River Run and other communities are scheduled to have their waterlines flushed throughout October leading into early November, said county officials.

The Public Works office said waterlines are flushed to remove accumulated sediment in the lines and to ensure hydrants are functioning properly.

Residents may experience cloudy, discolored water even on dates waterlines are not scheduled to be flushed, according to the county commissioner's office.

The department recommends residents to run faucets for a few minutes until the water is clear.
