Posted: Updated:
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Hundreds of power outages have been reported in Delaware after heavy rain and wind brought down a number of trees and wires.

Approximately 370 Delmarva Power customers lost power in the Claymont area south of Interstate 95 just before 5 a.m. Thursday. Another 200 lost power across New Castle County, lower Delaware and nearby Maryland.

Delaware Electric Cooperative says about 50 members are without service, mostly in Sussex County.

A number of accidents were reported on slick highways.

One accident around 6 a.m. on Interstate 95 involved a vehicle off the roadway into woods, with a driver reported trapped and two people injured.
