Harrington Man Arrested After Fleeing Police

Posted: Updated:

HARRINGTON, Del.– Police say a Harrington man was arrested after falsely identifying himself and attempting to flee when stopped by officers Sunday.

The suspect was later identified as Corey J. Bailey, 37.

Harrington police said they stopped Bailey's vehicle because the registration was flagged as belonging to a person with an outstanding warrant.

Police said when officers were speaking with Bailey, he ran from the vehicle and into a nearby home.

Officers surrounded the home where they said they saw Baily trying to jump from a second story window. He was then taken into custody and identified.

Authorities noted that Bailey was wanted by Delaware State Police on multiple warrants relating to another traffic stop he fled earlier this month.

Harrington police issued a criminal summons to Bailey for resisting arrest and criminal impersonation. He was then turned over to the custody of Delaware State Police.
